ROUND 3 WATERSKI & WAKEBOARD @ PUTRAJAYA

Round 3 of the 2010 Malaysian Waterski & Wakeboard Championship will be held in Putrajaya’s Presint 6 Water Sports Complex from the 16 to 18 July 2010.

The event organised by the Malaysian Waterski & Wakeboard Federation (MWWF) jointly with Waterski & Wakeboard World Cup Sdn. Bhd. as the event promoter has already attracted 71 entries with a month to go before the event.

The entries received so far comprised 73 entries from 7 countries with surprised entries from Kuwait. As of the 20^th of June the 73 entries received are from Singapore (SIN) - 16, Kuwait (KUW) - 6, Indonesia (INA) - 6, Great Britain (GBR) - 2, France (FRA) - 2, Hong Kong - 0, Malaysia (MAL) - 39.

The event categories are Slalom, Shortboard (Tricks), Jump and Wakeboard for Women & Men as well as for various age groups.

The Honorary Secretary of MWWF, Ms. Phillipa Yoong said, “The response from the region is very encouraging indeed. We may need to close the entries for some of the over-subscribed events even before the closing of entries dateline of 4^th July 2010. We are very happy to have received six entries from Kuwait comprising 4 men and 2 women wakeboarders. They shall be visiting Putrajaya for the first time to compete in our championship which is rapidly gaining international popularity.”

Phillipa added that round 3 will see the introduction of the Waterski Jump event in the National Championship for the first time this year.

The event is sponsored by Perbadanan Putrajaya, Ministry of Youth & Sports and WWWC. Entry to the event for spectators is free and the programme starts from 8am till 5pm on all the 3 days of 16 to 18 July 2010.
